THE CHALLENGE
Designing a West African corporate headquarters while retaining the global corporate visual of a Scandinavian-based organization
Incorporating existing furniture with new furniture to minimize waste.
Planning for current and future needs—putting into consideration proposed 5 year growth within the same space.
Ensuring the office incorporates the ‘green’ model.
THE SOLUTION
Worked closely with the project team and technical consultants to determine the different stakeholders’ needs and present responsive design.
Providing ‘Green’ solutions through:
LED lighting to reduce the energy load
Tinting windows to retain the coolness of the rooms thereby saving on energy consumption
Using infrared sensor taps to reduce waste
Adapting and re-using existing furniture pieces
Proposing a recycling station
THE RESULT
A spacious modern ‘open space’ office with vibrant colors and wall design that still gave a sense of privacy, met the stated guidelines and provided for 120% staff growth over 5 years without being empty/cluttered.
